About

I began my media and marketing career as a (self-taught) print designer. In the 1990s I became fascinated with the web and began to study HTML and CSS. Twitter was the next discovery, in 2007. In those early days of social media, I became part of a group of techies and marketing professionals, most of whom I’m still connected with.

I’ve used WordPress since 2006, when I set up my first blog. At the time I was 48 years old and had few contemporaries interested in technology, so I sought interest groups that might help me learn and grow.

In 2010, I founded the Memphis, Tennessee WordPress user group, and led it for eight years until we moved to Arkansas. I was an active volunteer with GiveCamp Memphis from 2008 – 2021 and am a member of Advertising Federation of Northeast Arkansas.

When I’m not working I enjoy The New York Times crossword puzzles, learning Spanish, gardening, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, hanging with extended family, or enjoying a glass of chardonnay on our patio. I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas with Jim, to whom I’ve been married since 1986, my mother, and our mini Aussiedoodle, Artie. We have two grown daughters.
