Yesterday a plane made an emergency landing in the Hudson River in New York City. The event has been well-covered by the mainstream media, but one of the best pictures I’ve seen was snapped by a ferry passenger and uploaded to twitpic.

If you don’t use Twitter, you should. And if you do use Twitter and don’t use Twitpic, go sign up now. You never know when something big will happen and I don’t want to miss your amazing photo.

I’ve been meaning to take some photos of the beautiful fall foliage in our area, but never got around to it. Somehow the ones I snapped from my iPhone on the way to church yesterday just didn’t make the cut. So Jim went walking and shooting yesterday and these are the best three.

We love sitting in our backyard. Unfortunately, it only looks good in very carefully cropped photos. Lots of trees, which is nice for shade, but not for grass growth. And two dogs who like to dig holes.

So this year, we decided that even though it looks like crap, we would enjoy it anyway. So we got some citronella torches and cleaned up the patio table & chairs. So now we cook out every chance we get, sit out on the patio and watch the sun set and just overlook the weeds and the bare dirt.

And … it looks pretty cool through a glass of Chardonnay. I snapped this pic tonight with my iPhone -
