Roughing it for Geeks

It’s only eight days away. In preparation for the release of the long-awaited iPhone, I’ve been doing my homework on other smartphones, most notably the Blackberry Pearl. It’s a sweet phone, and if I decide against the iPhone, it will be my first choice. The major downside to the Pearl is its lack of Mac integration — it looks as if it depends on third-party apps to make syncing work. And … it isn’t an iPhone.

So Elizabeth (she is currently trying to sell enough art on eBay to raise the money for her own) has agreed to stand in line with me next Friday. We’ll be checking out the lines at both the Cingular and the Apple stores beginning Thursday of next week.

So if we have to camp out, here is a site that is guaranteed to provide all the geek gear we’ll need for the campout. I know it will be worth it, and at least we’ll be able to brush our teeth.
