Recently I wrote about my efforts to get in shape. That’s pretty much over for the time being. The other night I rolled my right ankle while going upstairs and tore two of the three ligaments in my ankle.
I have to wear this removable cast, which weighs at least a ton and is not exactly my idea of stylish fall footwear, until the end of this month, at which time I’ll get to move to a slightly smaller one if all is healing well.
So much for my getting in shape plan. For the near future, that’s going to look more like physical therapy than intense workouts. And the Race for the Cure will be a spectator sport for me as I watch my sister cross the finish line.
Since I can’t drive, I’m pretty much at the mercy of the rest of my family’s schedule, so I won’t be getting out much, and my already lax housekeeping standards will probably take a nosedive.
On the bright side, I’ll have a lot more time to catch up on projects I’ve fallen behind on, much more time to read and learn about new things and won’t need to spend money on clothes any time soon.
Maybe I can get in shape by swimsuit season …
