I’m a Dr. Phil fan. Not that I agree with everything he says, but I like his down-to-earth, cut-through-the-crap style. In fact, I’ve even been known to ask my husband “how’s that workin’ for ya?” on a couple of occasions. For some reason, my husband does not like Dr. Phil that much.
One of Dr. Phil’s catchphrases is “Get Real.” I love this article because that’s exactly what author Jack Arnold does — he gets very real about his own life, his own sin and his need for Jesus.

Our sins may be different than Arnold’s — but they are sin just the same. I don’t sleep around, lie or steal, but my sin, as much as Arnold’s, or yours, or anyone else’s, drove the nails into the hands of Christ.
I’m glad that Jesus is real — His love, His death, His resurrection, His forgiveness and His grace are real, because my weakness, my shortcomings and my sin are very, very real indeed.
